The Whole Truth About the Iraq War!

We’ve heard most of this before, but it’s nice to see it wrapped up in one tidy visual package for those who don’t do much reading. Unfortunately, most of them will probably never see it; and after November, it will be considered irrelevant, one way or another.

The film documents the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq, the invasion itself, and the effects on America and Iraq. Mostly, it concentrates on the misinterpretations, exaggerations and — OK, let’s say the naughty word! — downright lies perpetrated by the current administration. The heart of the film is a long and interesting description by Bush’s chief weapons-of-mass-destruction-hunter David Kay in which he describes the methodology by which he and his people eventually determined that there were no such weapons in Iraq, and probably hadn’t been — to speak of — since the early 1990s. The purported link with Al-Qaeda is similarly destroyed, but not as nicely, and some viewers may come away with the vague feeling that it was discredited but not disproved.

Like Outfoxed, a film that deserves seeing now but, as I suggested earlier, probably won’t after November.
