Ilutoviĉ estas talenta poetino. English version follows. ILUTOVIĈ Klara: Survoje. Moskvo: Impeto, 2005. 55p. Libreto nepre leginda. Ilutovich, Klara: En Route. Moscow: Impeto, 2005. 55p. Paper. This is a relatively attractive booklet; Ilutovich is a talented poetess. Although the majority of poems are individual, there are several cycles that deserve attention: “The Four Basic Elements of the Universie (Air, Fire, Water and Earth, of course), “Errors” (about a year of strange weather) and “The Wishes of an Esperanto Speaker”, written as inspired by “Pictures at an Exhibition” by the musicion Moussorgsky. From the original poems, worth paying attention to are “M. Ravel’s Concerto for Left Hand” and “May We Claim the Nobel Prize?” It can generally be supposed that Ilutovich writes solely in the rhyme-scheme abab; but that’s not true, although it relates to the majority of poems. But as early as “La pluvo” (p. 7) we encounter aaabccccb. “The Maestro’s Birthday” gives us not only abaab, but also some of the effects mentioned in Dahlenburg’s book. For another example of the latter, see “La venkinto” (p. 36). The above mentioned “The Wishes of an Esperanto Speaker” (pp. 48-54), although mainly abab, gives several other rhyme-schemes, mainly at “The Gnome” and “The Ball of the Unhatched Nestlings”. Here’s a sample poem by Ilutovich: LA PEJZAĜO EL TRAJNOFENESTRO I found only one error in the book: “faleble” instead of “falpove” (p. 27). A booklet that deserves reading. Feedback
